The Panther Holiday Windows is a video installation created for the Cartier Boutique on 5th Avenue in New York City for the 2013 holiday season. Spanning the entire store front, we took high definition videos of live panthers and rotoscoped them into a mystical, wintry wonderland. As the panthers traverse the digital landscape that fills the display area, they periodically simulate interactions with physical jewelry boxes in the window display.
These responsive elements serve to activate the display area, drawing more focused attention from shoppers to the fine jewelry on display.
Through the use of choreographed actuation mechanisms and a large scale digital signage system, we created an immersive visual world that allows audiences to explore the exoticism of rare creatures, fine jewelry, and the elegant world of Cartier.
